Significant evidence indicates that cancer patients can benefit greatly from counseling with a registered dietitian and, in particular, those with an oncology specialization. Registered dietitians who are Certified Specialists in Oncology (“CSO”) have at least two years of professional experience and a minimum of 2,000 hours of nutrition practice in oncology. In addition, they have passed a national certification examination. Meals to Heal’s 8 oncology credentialed dietitians, all of whom hold the CSO credential, will soon be providing telephonic nutrition counseling to cancer patients who can schedule and receive counseling services from the comfort of their homes. Check back in November to schedule your appointment! Or, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will make sure and contact you.
In the meantime, to find a dietician with the CSO credential please visit the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ website below. Click on the state where you live to find a list of dietitians and their contact information. Look for the ones with the CSO to the right of their name to find those with the CSO credential. Contact the dietetic professional and arrange an appointment to receive counseling to help you with your nutritional issues.
